Wat Ket Riverside
Chiang Mai's original expat neighborhood, along the east bank of the Ping where missionaries were once granted land — home to the city's oldest church. It runs along Charoen Muang Road from Nawarat Bridge past McCormick Hospital and the train station. It lives as a living timeline: beautifully renovated historical homes alongside modern developments and well-kept high-rise condos. There's an emerging nomad-friendly scene here too — the Alt_ Ping River coworking space anchors the greater San Pa Koi area, more aspiration than established fact for now, but a real option if you want to be among nomads without getting stuck in the Nimman bubble. Walkable along the river, with Chiang Mai International School, McCormick Hospital, and Central Festival close at hand.
